The Arnold Marlins will head out on the road to square off against the Holmes County Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Arnold is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Houston Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-1.

Bre Clark was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jayden Reyes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Holmes County suffered their biggest loss since March 2, 2024 on Monday. They lost 8-2 to Liberty County.
Savannah Ludwig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Holmes County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bri Adams, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Arnold's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Holmes County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arnold has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Holmes County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Arnold came out on top in a nail-biter against Holmes County in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marlins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
