Softball Recap: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Takes Down West Central Co-Op [Winchester-Bluffs] in a Playoff Battle

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 20 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mylee Tracy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Rohn was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Meyer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive contests.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
