The Dreher Blue Devils were the 49-47 winner over the A.C. Flora Falcons when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Dreher lost to A.C. Flora at home by a decisive 60-43 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dreher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while A.C. Flora is ranked 46th).
Despite the defeat, Dreher saw an underclassman step up: Jamere Singleton scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Barr, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Dreher and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for A.C. Flora, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Dreher will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal Newman at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cardinal Newman is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.7 points per game. As for A.C. Flora, they will be playing at home against Dutch Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dutch Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully A.C. Flora likes a good challenge.
