Sutherland have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Southwest at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close contest.
Sutherland had a rough outing against South Loup three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Sutherland secured a 28-22 W over Paxton.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Southwest weren't quite Kimball's equal in the second half when they met last week. Southwest lost to Kimball by a decisive 6-24 margin. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Southwest.
Sutherland's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Southwest's loss dropped them down to 0-2. We'll see if Sutherland's success rolls on or if Southwest are able to steal their positive momentum.
