Even though the Irvine Vaqueros have not done well against the Portola Bulldogs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Irvine strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. That's another feather in the cap for Irvine, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Cooper Stearns, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Hoffman, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Irvine and bumps their season record up to 15-13. As for Portola, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.
Irvine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Portola also has no future games currently scheduled.
