Basketball Recap: Williston Piles Up the Points Against Wildwood

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Williston walked away with it. They blew past the Wildwood Wildcats 75-40 on Wednesday. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

De'Andre Harvey was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-17 en route to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Kirkpatrick, who posted nine points.

Williston was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wildwood only racked up five assists.

The win was the third in a row for Williston, bringing their record for this year to 16-11. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Wildwood, Hawthorne, and Wildwood. As for Wildwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 20-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Williston will take on Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hawthorne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. Wildwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
