If the Carver A&T Wildcats were feeling good off their 38-11 takedown of the Overlea Falcons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carver A&T took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sparrows Point on Wednesday. Carver A&T has not had much luck with Sparrows Point recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada McAliley, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Carrington, who scored six points along with six blocks.
Carver A&T's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sparrows Point, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver A&T will square off against Patapsco at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Patapsco focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Wednesday. As for Sparrows Point, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastern Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Tech is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
