The Ridgeview Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Nassau. Ridgeview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Ridgeview's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Blake Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, and JJ Moore who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
West Nassau's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Thrift led the charge by scoring 17 points. Thrift is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Javion Brown, who scored 15 points.
Ridgeview dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Nassau, their win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palatka knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 contests -- so hopefully the Panthers likes a good challenge. As for West Nassau, they will head out on the road to square off against the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. First Coast presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Florida (the Buccaneers are ranked 224th, while the Warriors are ranked 743rd).
