The Shaw Raiders's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bainbridge and snuck past 48-46. For Shaw, this counts as revenge for the 30-29 defeat Bainbridge walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 6th.
Shaw's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tiara Tucker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Tucker hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. Brooke Shipp was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bainbridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyra Green. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Green scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Z'riah Solomon, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Bainbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Shaw will head out on the road to take on Hardaway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bainbridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colquitt County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
