The Camelback Spartans won the last time they faced the Alhambra Lions, and things went their way on Friday too. Camelback managed a 49-45 win over Alhambra. Given Camelback's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Alhambra is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Camelback's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylin Ideran, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Ideran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aken Logan, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Camelback's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Alhambra, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Camelback will head out on the road to take on Browne at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Browne is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Alhambra, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Maricopa at 4:30 p.m. Maricopa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
