Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Dixie's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Dixie won the last time they faced Desert Hills and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Dixie Flyers snuck past the Desert Hills Thunder with a 61-56 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

Tyson Forsey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 19 en route to 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Jay Davey, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points and six boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Dixie was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Hills only racked up four assists.

When it comes to explaining why Desert Hills lost, don't look at Ben Chase. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 8 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Chase continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Freeman Springer was another key player, putting up ten points.

Dixie is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Desert Hills, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie will venture away from home to challenge Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixie is facing Cedar at the right time seeing as Cedar is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Desert Hills, they are taking a road trip to take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
