It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mogollon had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They didn't even let the San Manuel Miners on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hadley Porter made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Stetson Owens was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Chancy Worsley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
The victory (which was Mogollon's fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for San Manuel, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.
As of now, neither Mogollon nor the Miners have any future games scheduled.
