Softball Recap: Bonita Has No Trouble Against Claremont

Bonita won the last time they faced Claremont and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bonita was the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over Claremont. Considering the Bearcats have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Skyy Hicks and Koa Puppe did most of the damage at the plate: Hicks went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Puppe went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Hicks has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Camryn Van Valkenburgh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Bonita hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 11 consecutive matchups.

Bonita is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Claremont's loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Bonita wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Walnut on the 27th. As for Claremont, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-2 defeat against Glendora on the 27th.
