Westside is a perfect 4-0 against Pickens since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will square off against the Blue Flame at 7:30 p.m. Westside is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Last Thursday, Westside didn't have too much trouble with Wren as they won 21-7.

It was another big night for Keylan Powell, who rushed for 212 yards and one touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Westside's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Westside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Brayden Waller and Zyon Paul, who each picked up one interception apiece. Waller was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making ten total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Pickens made easy work of Travelers Rest on Friday and carried off a 49-27 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Flame in their matchups with the Devildogs: they've now won three in a row.
Westside better keep an eye on Brooks Dow. He was instrumental in Pickens' win, rushing for 143 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, while also throwing for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes. Dow's longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. David Bolden also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.
Westside's record is now 6-4. As for Pickens, their record now sits at 3-7.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Westside has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pickens struggles in that department as they've been averaging 206.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Westside against Pickens when the teams last played back in October of 2023, as the squad secured a 52-7 win. In that contest, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 38-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
