Basketball Recap: Audrey Vega Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coral Reef

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask TERRA Environmental). They took down the Coral Reef Barracudas 37-22 on Thursday. This was payback for TERRA Environmental, who suffered a 41-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

TERRA Environmental's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Audrey Vega led the charge by going 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Teboe, who posted seven points and 11 boards.

Despite the loss, Coral Reef saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tayler Jackson put up ten points.

The victory got TERRA Environmental back to even at 2-2. As for Coral Reef, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

TERRA Environmental didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-19 loss against Coral Gables on the 6th. As for Coral Reef, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-6 defeat against Lourdes Academy on the 9th.
