After a string of five wins, the Treasure Coast Titans's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Royal Palm Beach. Treasure Coast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Royal Palm Beach apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
When it comes to explaining why Treasure Coast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyson Wilson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bek Fleurissaint, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Jayden Coney was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Royal Palm Beach. Carlos Canales was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Treasure Coast's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Royal Palm Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Treasure Coast will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Centennial is ranked 81st, while Treasure Coast is ranked 91st). Royal Palm Beach's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seminole Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Seminole Ridge has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
