The Upper Scioto Valley Rams will venture away from home to take on the Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pandora-Gilboa hit Upper Scioto Valley with a four-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 6-5. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jesse Prater made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Lowery, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
Cory-Rawson couldn't beat McComb on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Fighting Hornets lost 19-8 to the Panthers. The Fighting Hornets haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Dom Moon was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Levi Fruth, who earned one RBI and two runs.
Cory-Rawson's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Upper Scioto Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Upper Scioto Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cory-Rawson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Upper Scioto Valley got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Cory-Rawson by a conclusive 22-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
