It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the North Posey Vikings had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 victory over Triton Central. Winning may never get old, but North Posey sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Liam Stone was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Colton Gardner also helped out as he racked up 107 rushing yards.
Despite the loss, Triton Central still got an impressive performance from Jace Stuckey, who rushed for 80 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 161 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes.
North Posey's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Triton Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
North Posey will take on Southmont at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southmont is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Triton Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
