The Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Tigers will take on the Newman Greenies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Covenant Christian Academy.
Ashtyn Rogers made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Alyvia Palmisano was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eden Randall, who scored a run and stole a base.
Meanwhile, while Newman put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Bonnabel. Newman blew past Bonnabel 19-0. The contest marked the Greenies' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Like Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, Newman also got a great game from a two-way player: Maryn Huber. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Huber was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyse Dulitz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Catherine Fitzpatrick was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Newman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .879. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Newman now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
