Coleman is 0-4 against Fulton since April of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Comets will venture away from home to challenge the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Coleman will be strutting in after a win while Fulton will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Coleman beat Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy 8-3.
Parker Klopf made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Klopf was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zayne Lytle, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Aden Aultman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Coleman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Fulton came up short against Boyne City on Friday and fell 5-1.
Like Coleman, Fulton also got a great game from a two-way player: Bryson Sattler. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Sattler gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Parker Duflo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Fulton now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Coleman, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.
Coleman might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Fulton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
