The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Carson Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Cabarrus will be strutting in after a win while Carson will be coming in after a loss.
Northwest Cabarrus barely beat Jay M. Robinson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Cooper Greene was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Northwest Cabarrus is 4-2 when Greene allows two or fewer earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Greene was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to South Rowan. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Raiders since Friday.
Kendal Sifford was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Northwest Cabarrus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.
