Camden is 8-2 against Carthage since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Camden Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Carthage Comets at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Camden was beaten by Rome Free Academy 58-24. Camden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Carthage, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-24 walloping at the hands of Immaculate Heart Central on Monday. While losing is never fun, Carthage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while Immaculate Heart Central is ranked 216th).
Camden's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Carthage, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Camden strolled past Carthage in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a score of 37-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Camden since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
