After flying high against the Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars last Monday, the New Roads Jaguars came back down to earth. New Roads fell 50-37 to Vistamar on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to New Roads of the 56-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Vistamar was led to victory by Luke Lagao and Isaiah Hill. Lagao scored 14 points, while Hill scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Chen, who scored six points.
New Roads now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Vistamar, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
New Roads will head out on the road to face off against Geffen Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geffen Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Vistamar, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hawthorne Math & Science Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
