Skyridge is a perfect 10-0 against Westlake since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunder at 3:30 p.m. Skyridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Skyridge not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 17-4). They blew past Lone Peak 14-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Max Johanson and Boston Sundberg did most of the damage at the plate: Johanson went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Sundberg went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Johanson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Miles Robinson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Skyridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Pleasant Grove, falling 18-5.
Westlake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Hartle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Skyridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Westlake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Westlake, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Skyridge's sizable advantage in that area, the Thunder will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyridge took their win against Westlake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-7 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
