Troup has gone a perfect 3-0 against Buffalo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tigers will square off against the Bison at 7:30 p.m. Troup will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Troup strolled past West Rusk with points to spare, taking the game 35-21.
Brett Wells had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 206 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended two passes. Josh Childress got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Troup was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Rusk only rushed for 81.
Troup didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cameron Hollie and Dee Hollie.
Meanwhile, Buffalo lost to West Rusk on the road by a 49-31 margin on Friday. The Bison have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Troup will need to focus on slowing down Hayden Shaw, one of several Buffalo players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 114 yards and one score. Cole Davis also helped out as he racked up 113 rushing yards.
Buffalo's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Troup, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Troup has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Buffalo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 250.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Troup against Buffalo in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 57-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
