Baseball Recap: HCYA Takes a Loss

HCYA was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bay Area Christian Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to HCYA of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Trak Jimenez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, HCYA saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyde Tracy, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

HCYA now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Bay Area Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. HCYA will be taking part in a tournament against Brazosport Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so HCYA's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bay Area Christian, they will head out to face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
