Oak Ridge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Davis Sr. recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Trojans will host the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Oak Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Davis Sr.'s hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Oak Ridge is headed into this one coming off a big win against nationally ranked Rocklin (Oak Ridge was ranked 19th at the time). The Trojans never let the Thunder get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Ellison Schroeder looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emery Glaser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Short, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Oak Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocklin only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Davis Sr. came up short against Del Oro on Friday, falling 11-4. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Davis Sr. saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Yao, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Davis Sr.'s defeat dropped their record down to 11-10-1. As for Oak Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Davis Sr. struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Ridge took their win against Davis Sr. in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 15-3 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
