White Plains posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 65-29 win over Port Chester. Given White Plains' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Port Chester is ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ineivi Plata continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Sequoia Layne was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Ossining ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Greeley 75-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ossining got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Saniya Bell out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty'asia Carver, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
White Plains is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Ossining, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Everything came up roses for White Plains against Ossining in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 80-32 victory. With White Plains ahead 48-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
