Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Unity Christian Lions walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Lions 66-14 at home. Unity Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Unity Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camryn King, who scored 17 points along with five steals. King hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Anna Grace Wells, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The win (which was Unity Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 13-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.3 points. As for Praise Academy, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Unity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oakwood Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Unity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Oakwood Christian likes a good challenge. Praise Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
