Basketball Recap: Faith Christian's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

While it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, Faith Christian was not quite Temple Christian's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temple Christian Crusaders. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Faith Christian lost, don't look at Matthew Burton. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 12 en route to 23 points. Burton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Ridge, who posted nine points and three steals.

Temple Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Silas Walker, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Carter Cash was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Faith Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Temple Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Faith Christian has already played their next contest (against Roanoke Valley Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Temple Christian is taking a road trip to face off against C.H. Friend at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Temple Christian is facing C.H. Friend at the right time seeing as C.H. Friend is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
