Greeneview is 0-9 against Mechanicsburg since April of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. Greeneview came out on top against Franklin Monroe on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Rams walked away with a 9-4 win over the Jets.
Mya Simpson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Maddie Owens was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Greeneview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg suffered their biggest loss since March 24th on Friday. They came up short against West Jefferson, falling 10-1.
Mechanicsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Batkiewicz, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Greeneview pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Mechanicsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Mechanicsburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greeneview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Mechanicsburg, though, as they've only averaged .319. Will they be able to contain Greeneview's hitters?
Greeneview might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Mechanicsburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
