Holland Hall has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Perkins-Tryon Demons at TBD on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Holland Hall walked away with it. Everything went their way against Checotah on Friday as Holland Hall made off with a 38-13 win.
Holland Hall relied on the efforts of Julius Wilson, who picked up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Trey Burleson, who threw for 191 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes. Lj Mcghee was another key contributor, rushing for 122 yards.
Meanwhile, Perkins-Tryon entered their tilt with Lone Grove with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Perkins-Tryon breezed by Lone Grove at home to the tune of 48-6. With Perkins-Tryon ahead 34-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Perkins-Tryon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Atkinson out in front who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Beckham Smith, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Holland Hall pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for Perkins-Tryon, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Everything went Holland Hall's way against Perkins-Tryon in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 as Holland Hall made off with a 34-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holland Hall since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
