Chippewa lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Coventry, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Chipps blew past the Comets 14-4 on Thursday. The Chipps might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Chippewa, bringing their record up to 9-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coventry, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Coming up, Chippewa will challenge Harrison Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Chipps' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Coventry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Irish have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
