Covington took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 21-25, 25-12.

Brooke Rottmann paced Covington's offense, picking up 14 kills. Rottmann got some help from Gabby Lewis and her 31 assists. Eliza Wilderman controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

North Montgomery's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kate Merica, who had 14 digs and two aces, and Lilly Graham, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Seeger at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for North Montgomery, they will square off against Clinton Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
