Bishop Montgomery is 9-1 against St. Monica since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
While Bishop Montgomery's win against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights skirted past the Cardinals 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 24, 2024.

Macey Kim spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Abigail Green was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Meridian Cordova, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
St. Monica hadn't beaten Mary Star of the Sea on the road since April 26, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them last Tuesday. The Mariners were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Stars. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Bella Urbina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Urbina was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, St. Monica let Katrina Olmedo and Milena Valdez run wild. Olmedo went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Valdez went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Savanna Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
St. Monica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Bishop Montgomery pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for St. Monica, their record now sits at 10-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Bishop Montgomery hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. Monica struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Bishop Montgomery's way against St. Monica in their previous matchup back in March, as Bishop Montgomery made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
