New Lothrop will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Mt. Morris on Monday. The Hornets blew past the Panthers 11-4.

Logan Judd made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of New Lothrop's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Braxton Tallon was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jameson Kopschitz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
New Lothrop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Durand posted their closest win since May 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Alma 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Railroaders.
New Lothrop is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Durand, their record now sits at 7-5.
Everything went New Lothrop's way against Durand in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as New Lothrop made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
