East Lake is a perfect 10-0 against Largo since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Packers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
East Lake came out on top against Sickles on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gryphons a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Lucy Mondok made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Mondok was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
