It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Granada Bobcats can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Cheyenne Wells on Saturday, falling 46-14. Granada's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Cheyenne Wells found their leader in underclassman Trey Scheler, who rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Scheler is absolutely dominating the solo tackle category: he's posted at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Cheyenne Wells' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Scheler and his two sacks.
Granada's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Cheyenne Wells, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
Granada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheyenne Wells will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Otis at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. Otis is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
