Meanwhile, Richland got the win against Jackson on Saturday by a conclusive 15-1. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
Emmalee Mohr made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Sams and Julia Saueressig did most of the damage at the plate: Sams went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Saueressig went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Saueressig a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Boyce, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Richland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson only posted an OBP of .273.
Richland's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Hermiston, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Hermiston hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
