Meanwhile, Danville posted their closest win since December 22, 2023 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cascade, sneaking past 68-65. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Cadets are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Plainfield better keep an eye on Elijah Tricker. He was instrumental in Danville's win, going 10 of 20 on his way to 32 points and five rebounds. The game was Tricker's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Coleman, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.
Plainfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Danville, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Plainfield and Danville are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Plainfield hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.5 points per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Plainfield took their win against Danville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 93-72. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Tricker, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 19 points and six assists. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Plainfield still be able to contain Tricker? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
