The Alta Vista Charter Lobos lost against the Southwest Leadership Academy Rams back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Alta Vista Charter was dealt a 56-23 defeat at the hands of Southwest Leadership Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alta Vista Charter has scored all season.
Southwest Leadership Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Serious Sykes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. Sykes is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ayden Gonzales was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Alta Vista Charter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alta Vista Charter will take on Pan-American at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southwest Leadership Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Adobe Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
