If the Dr. Krop Lightning were feeling good off their 68-46 takedown of the Monsignor Pace Spartans last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Dr. Krop fell to American 55-51. If Dr. Krop hoped to take revenge for the 45-42 loss against they when the teams met on Thursday, then they were left disappointed.
Several Lightning players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emmanuel Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Ferguson hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Washington, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
American's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennith Johnson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Johnson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Alexandre Brigitte was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Dr. Krop now has a losing record at 7-8. As for American, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Dr. Krop will head out on the road to take on Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American, they will be playing at home against JC Bermudez Doral at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in JC Bermudez Doral's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
