Senior pitcher Stetson Allie of St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) and veteran coach Charlie Warner of Pace (Pace, Fla.) headline the MaxPreps Baseball All-American Team.
Allie hit and pitched his squad to a Division I state title in Ohio for the second time in three seasons and is the MaxPreps National Player of the Year. In the 8-3 championship game win over Elder, Allie struck out 13 batters and reached 101 miles per hour with his fastball, according to the stadium radar gun. Allie climaxed his high school career by going to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the MLB draft. See more on Allie's career at St. Edward here.
Warner collected his second state championship in 19 years at the school. The Patriots were 29-2 on the season and won 25 straight games to close out the year, including a 6-5 win over Armwood in the Florida 5A state championship game. Warner has led Pace to the regional playoffs 17 times in his tenure and has a career mark of 507-114. Pace finished the year ranked No. 2 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Baseball Rankings presented by Milk.
The 30-member All-American First Team includes nine players chosen in the first round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Players are chosen based on local area and state awards, statistics, and overall performance as a high school player, not necessarily on potential as a professional prospect.

Cam Bedrosian, East Coweta (Sharpsburg, Ga.), Pitcher, 6-0, 205, Sr. - The son of former Cy Young Award Winner Steve Bedrosian, Cam was 8-1 on the season with a 1.44 ERA, 111 strikeouts and 22 walks in 58 innings pitched. A first round pick by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Bedrosian has also committed to play at LSU.
Jameson Taillon, The Woodlands (The Woodlands, Texas), Pitcher, 6-6, 220, Sr. - The No. 1 high school player chosen in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, Taillon went to the Pittsburgh Pirates with the second overall pick. Taillon, whose fastball reaches 97 mph, was 8-1 this season with a 1.79 ERA and 114 strikeouts in 62.2 innings pitched. He was named to the Texas Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) all-state team and has committed to play at Rice.
Dylan Covey, Maranatha (Pasadena, Calif.), Pitcher, 6-2, 200, Sr. - The Pasadena Star News Player of the Year, Covey was also the District 8 Player of the Year by the Baseball Coaches of America and was taken in the first round of the MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Covey was 7-1 on the season with a 0.40 ERA and 138 strikeouts with just 20 walks in 70.2 innings pitched. He also batted .414 with 17 RBI. He has committed to play at the University of San Diego.

Marco Gonzales, Rocky Mountain (Fort Collins, Colo.), Pitcher, 6-0, 190, Sr. - Gonzales became the first pitcher in Colorado state history to be the winning pitcher in the state finals four years in a row. Named the Player of the Year by the Denver Post, Gonzales was chosen in the 29th round of the MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies. Gonzales was 11-0 with a 2.20 ERA, and 81 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. He was also a standout in the outfield, batting .471 with 35 runs, 34 RBI and seven home runs. He has committed to play at Gonzaga.
Drew Cisco, Wando (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.), Pitcher, 6-2, 195, Sr. - The South Carolina Coaches Association 4A MVP went to the Cincinnati Reds in the sixth round of the MLB draft. Cisco's grandfather, Galen Cisco, played in the Major Leagues during the 1960s and was a longtime MLB coach. Drew Cisco posted a 10-2 record with a 0.91 ERA. He struck out 100 batters and walked 13 in 77 innings pitched. He has committed to play at Georgia.
Jesse Biddle, Germantown Friends (Philadelphia, Pa.), Pitcher, 6-5, 225, Sr. - Drafted in the first round of the MLB draft by his hometown Philadelphia Phillies, Biddle was an All-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection by the Philadelphia Daily News after a going 9-2 with a 1.06 ERA. Biddle struck out 140 batters in just 59.1 innings pitched while walking only 29. Biddle has signed with the Phillies.
Phillip Pfeifer, Farragut (Knoxville, Tenn.), Pitcher, 6-0, 190, Jr. - Already a three-time all-state player, Pfeiffer led Farragut to its third straight Tennessee AAA state title by finishing 16-0 with a 1.26 ERA. He threw a one-hitter in the state finals with 14 strikeouts and had 165 strikeouts and only 26 walks in 96 innings pitched. Heading into his senior year, Pfeiffer has a record of 41-1 with 415 strikeouts.
Dylan Bundy, Owasso (Owasso, Okla.), Pitcher, 6-1, 200, Jr. - The two-time state player of the year by Gatorade, Bundy transferred to Owasso for his junior season after playing two years at Sperry. The move to tougher competition did nothing to dim Bundy's stats as he went 11-1 with a 1.58 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 79.2 innings pitched. He also batted .444 with 51 RBI and seven home runs for the Rams, who were the state 6A runners up. Bundy has committed to play at Texas.
Ethan Bennett, Farragut (Knoxville, Tenn.), Catcher, 6-1, 210, Sr. - Bennett set a national record with a home run in 10 consecutive games this year. The Gatorade State Player of the Year for Tennessee, Bennett batted .407 with 57 hits, nine doubles, a state-record 27 home runs and 73 RBI. Helped the Admirals win their third straight AAA state title. He has signed to play at Tennessee next year.
Justin O'Conner, Cowan (Muncie, Ind.), Catcher, 6-1, 170, Sr. - A shortstop for most of his high school career, O'Conner switched behind the plate this season and was snatched in the first round of the MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. A two time Star Press Player of the Year winner, O'Conner broke the Indiana state record for RBI wtih 198 and tied the state record for career home runs with 51. He batted .494 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI as a senior and was 5-1 on the mound with a 1.56 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched. He signed with the Rays.
Kevin Cron, Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, Ariz.), Catcher, 6-4, 245, Jr. - An all-state pick by the Arizona Republic, Cron tied a state record by blasting 22 home runs. He batted .491 on the season with 24 runs, 54 hits, 10 doubles and 52 RBI to go with his prodigious home run total. Committed to play at TCU following his senior year.
Ryan Ford, Plano West (Plano, Texas), First Baseman, 6-3, 230, Sr. - A four-year varsity starter, Ford helped Plano West reach the 5A Final Four two of the past three seasons (winning it all in 2008). He is a first-team all-state selection by the Texas baseball coaches and was drafted in the 38th round by the Houston Astros. The Texas commit batted .532 on the season (41-for-77) with 45 RBI, 7 doubles and 12 home runs.
Daryl Norris, Fairhope (Fairhope, Ala.), First Baseman, 6-1, 210, Sr. - The two-time 6A Player of the Year in Alabama, Norris was drafted in the 46th round by the Texas Rangers. He batted .444 with 67 runs scored, 13 doubles, 65 RBI and 11 home runs. He also excelled on the mound with an 11-2 record, a 2.31 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 78.2 innings pitched.

Marcus Littlewood, Pine View (St. George, Utah), Infield, 6-3, 198, Sr. - A two-time state player of the year in Utah, Littlewood went to the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the MLB draft. He batted .538 at Pine View this year with 10 doubles, 8 home runs and 27 RBI. He has committed to play at the University of San Diego.
J.T. Realmuto, Carl Albert (Midwest City, Okla.), Infield, 6-2, 200, Sr. - The reported national leader in home runs with 28, Realmuto reportedly set a national record with 119 RBI and tied a national record with 88 basehits. He batted .595 (88-for-148) with 78 runs scored and 26 doubles. An all-state pick in football and baseball, Realmuto was The Oklahoman Big City Player of the Year. He was chosen in the third round of the MLB draft by the Florida Marlins. He has signed to play at Oklahoma State.
Manny Machado, Brito (Miami, Fla.), Infield, 6-2, 180, Sr. - The first high school position player chosen in the MLB draft, Machado was the third overall pick by the Baltimore Orioles. An all-area pick by the Miami Herald, Machado batted .639 with 43 runs scored, 55 hits, 27 doubles, 12 home runs and 56 RBI to go with 17 stolen bases. He has committed to Florida International.
Nick Castellanos, Archbishop McCarthy (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Infield, 6-4, 205, Sr. - Named the Gatorade State Player of the Year for Florida, Castellanos was chosen in the compensatory round of the MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers. He helped Archbishop McCarthy win the Florida 4A state championship by batting .542 with 34 runs scored, 39 hits, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 6 home runs and 41 RBI. He also stole 22 bases. He has signed to play at the University of Miami.
Sean Coyle, Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, Pa.), Infield, 5-9, 175, Sr. - Coyle earned State Player of the Year honors from Gatorade and was named the City Player of the Year and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Player of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Drafted in the third round of the MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox, Coyle batted .562 this year with 50 hits, 45 runs, 14 doubles, 4 triples, 13 home runs, 55 RBI and 22 stolen bases. He has committed to play at the University of North Carolina.
Kris Bryant, Bonanza (Las Vegas, Nev.), Infield, 6-5, 210, Sr. - Bryant was one of the top home run hitters in the country, blasting 22 round trippers and earning Gatorade State Player of the Year honors in Nevada. He was chosen in the 18th round by the Toronto Blue Jays and batted .484 on the season with 51 RBI. He has a verbal commitment to the University of San Diego.

Josh Sale, Bishop Blanchet (Seattle, Wash.), Outfield, 6-0, 205, Sr. - A two-time all-state choice in Washington, Sale batted .520 with 27 runs, 26 hits, 6 doubles, 5 home runs and 20 RBI this year as teams learned to pitch around the Bishop Blanchet senior. Considered one of the top pure hitters in the MLB draft, Sale went to the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round. He has a verbal commitment to Gonzaga.
Cory Hahn, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), Outfield, 5-10, 160, Sr. - Hahn had a spectacular finish to his season as he pitched five perfect innings and drove in the winning run with a homer in a 2-0 victory over Dana Hills in the California Southern Section Division I championship game. The player of the year by both the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Times, Hahn batted .411 with 33 runs, 37 hits, 3 doubles, 10 home runs and 24 RBI. He was also 14-1 on the mound with a 0.89 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 94.2 innings pitched. He was chosen in the 26th round by the San Diego Padres. He has committed to play at Arizona State.
Mark Blackmar, Carroll (Corpus Christi, Texas), Outfield, 6-2, 205, Sr. - Helped lead Carroll to a Texas 5A state championship as a pitcher and a hitter and was named the All-South Texas Player of the Year by the Caller Times. Blackmar batted .478 with 5 triples, 7 homeruns, 43 runs, and 50 RBI. On the mound, he was 14-1 with a 0.80 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 88 innings pitched. He was chosen in the 34th round by the Kansas City Royals. He has committed to play at Temple.
Delino Deshields, Woodward Academy (College Park, Ga.), Outfield, 5-9, 190, Sr. - The son of former MLB All-Star of the same name, DeShields went to the Houston Astros in the first round of the MLB draft. A possible infielder at the professional level, DeShields played in the outfield in high school and batted .415 (39-for-93) with 11 doubles, 9 home runs, 40 RBI, 41 runs and 29 stolen bases. A standout football player as well, DeShields Jr. has committed to LSU.
Austin Wilson, Harvard-Westlake (North Hollywood, Calif.), Outfield, 6-4, 215, Sr. - An all-area pick by the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily News, Wilson also made the All-Southern Section Division I team. Projected as a potential first round draft pick, the Stanford recruit slipped to the 12th round to the St. Louis Cardinals due to signability issues. He batted .500 (45-for-90) with 53 runs scored, 24 stolen bases, 13 doubles, 5 home runs and 20 RBI.
CT Bradford, Pace (Pace, Fla.), Outfield, 5-9, 165, Sr. - The state player of the year in Florida by the Dairy Farmers Association, Bradford went to the Cleveland Indians in the 48th round of the MLB draft. Bradford led Pace to the 5A state championship while batting .473 with 6 home runs, 13 doubles, 27 RBI, 45 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. He was also 12-0 on the mound with a 1.19 ERA and 95 strikeouts. He will attend Mississippi State.
Charles Jones, Boonville (Boonville, Mo.), Outfield, 6-3, 235, Sr. - Picked as the Gatorade State Player of the Year in Missouri, Jones went to the San Francisco Giants in the 7th round of the MLB draft. He batted .525 with 46 RBI, 46 runs scored and 10 home runs while earning all-state Division 3 honors.
Jackson Posey, Sumrall (Sumrall, Miss.), All-Purpose, 6-3, 215, Sr. - The team leader on a squad that finished No. 1 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Rankings the past two seasons, Posey was named the Hattiesburg American Player of the Year and earned all-state honors from the Jackson Clarion Ledger. He batted .523 (56-for-107) with 37 runs, 61 RBI, 14 doubles, and 5 home runs. On the mound, Posey was 12-0 with 79 strikeouts and a 1.05 ERA in 60 innings pitched. He has committed to play at Southern Miss.

Kaleb Cowart, Cook (Adel, Ga.), All-Purpose, 6-3, 195, Sr. - The Gatorade National Player of the Year and the USA Today National Player of the Year, Cowart went to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the first round of the MLB draft. He led Cook to the Georgia 2A championship game as he batted .654 with 11 home runs, 59 RBI, 55 runs, and 36 stolen bases. On the mound, Cowart was 10-1 with a 1.05 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 73 innings pitched. He has committed to Florida State.
J.R. Bradley, Nitro (Nitro, W.Va.), All-Purpose, 6-4, 190, Sr. - Bradley won player of the year honors on the West Virginia AAA all-state team after leading Nitro to the state championship. Bradley was 13-0 on the mound with a 0.61 ERA and 109 strikeouts. At the plate he batted .483 with 13 home runs, 15 doubles and 52 RBI. He was chosen in the second round of the MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has signed to play at North Carolina State.

Daniel Gibson, Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.), Pitcher, 6-4, 210, Sr. - The Florida 4A State Player of the Year by the Dairy Farmers Association, Gibson led Jesuit to the state finals before falling to Archbishop McCarthy. Gibson pitched 85 innings and struck out 120 batters while giving up only 28 walks in building a 14-0 record. He was chosen in the 26th round by the Milwaukee Brewers and has committed to play at the University of Florida.
Chase Wellbrock, Brenham (Brenham, Texas), Pitcher, 5-9, 170, Sr. - Wellbrock posted one of the best records in the country, going 18-0 on the season and leading Brenham to the Texas 4A state championship. He struck out 109 batters in 99.2 innings pitched while walking just 12. He was a 4A all-state selection and was the 4A tournament MVP. He will play for the University of Houston.
Rob Zastryzny, Calallen (Corpus Christi, Texas), Pitcher, 6-3, 180, Sr. - In leading Calallen to the Texas 4A championship game, Zastryzny was one of the top strikeout pitchers in the nation with 190 K's in 104 innings pitched. He also posted 11 shutouts and had 15 complete games in going 16-1 with a 0.40 ERA. He was named the All-South Texas Pitcher of the Year by the Caller Times and also had a solid year at the plate with a .405 average, 9 home runs, 46 runs and 47 RBI. The 4A all-state pick will pitch at Missouri next year.
Robbie Aviles, Suffern (Suffern, N.Y.), Pitcher, 6-4, 190, Sr. - Aviles drew national attention with back-to-back no-hitters. he went on to compile a 9-0 record with a 0.62 ERA, 93 strikeouts and only 16 walks in 56.2 innings pitched. The Cleveland Indians drafted Aviles in the 7th round of the MLB draft. He has committed to play at the University of Florida.

Adam Plutko, Glendora (Glendora, Calif.), Pitcher, 6-3, 180, Sr. - The Southern Section Division 2 Player of the Year, Plutko was drafted in the 6th round by the Houston Astros. He was the San Gabriel Valley Tribune's Player of the Year after going 10-1 with a 1.36 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched. Led Glendora to the Southern Section Division 2 championship. He has committed to play at UCLA.
Logan Ehlers, Nebraska City (Nebraska City, Neb.), Pitcher, 6-1, 190, Sr. - The two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year, Ehlers was 8-2 on the season with a 0.27 ERA and 186 strikeouts in just 78 innings pitched. At the plate, Ehlers batted .398 with 31 runs, 30 RBI, 12 doubles and 4 home runs. He was selected in the 8th round by the Toronto Blue Jays and has committed to play at the University of Nebraska.
Cody Buckel, Royal (Simi Valley, Calif.), Pitcher, 6-1, 170, Sr. - Named the Player of the Year in Ventura County, Buckel was an All-Southern Section pick and landed a spot on the all-area team for the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily News, earning player of the year honors by the latter. Picked in the 2nd round by the Texas Rangers, Buckel was 12-1 on the season with a 0.61 ERA and 123 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 80 innings pitched. He has committed to Pepperdine.
Mike Foltynewicz, Minooka (Minooka, Ill.), Pitcher, 6-4, 190, Sr. - Selected in the first round of the MLB draft by the Houston Astros, Foltynewicz was also an all-state selection by the Chicago Tribune. He went 9-0 on the season with a 0.38 ERA, 128 strikeouts and 11 walks in 72 innings pitched. He has already signed to play for the Astros.
Jake De Pew, Granite City (Granite City, Ill.), Catcher, 6-0, 215, Sr. - The Illinois State Player of the Year by Gatorade, DePew bashed 13 home runs and batted .490. He also had 50 runs, 50 hits, 17 doubles, 44 RBI and 21 stolen bases. Chosen in the 9th round by the Tampa Bay Rays, DePew was named the Metro Player of the Year by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has committed to play at Louisville.
Matt Roberts, Graham (Graham, N.C.), Catcher, 6-1, 195, Sr. - The North Carolina State Player of the Year by Gatorade batted .486 (35-for-72) with 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 52 home runs. Committed to North Carolina, Roberts was selected in the 38th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brandon Sedell, American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.), Catcher, 6-0, 210, Jr. - Selected as the top 3A player in the state of Florida by the Dairy Farmers Association, Sedell led American Heritage with his prowess at the plate as he batted .612 (52-for-85) with 40 runs, 46 RBI, 11 doubles and 9 home runs. He was also named to the All-Broward County team by the Miami Herald and he was the small school MVP by the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel.
Christian Yelich, Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.), First Base, 6-4, 180, Sr. - The Florida Marlins nabbed Yelich in the first round of the MLB draft after he posted a .451 batting average this year with 41 runs, 37 hits, 14 doubles, 9 home runs, 25 RBI and 28 stolen bases. He was named to the All-Southern Section Division I team as well as the all-area team by the Los Angeles Daily News. He has committed to UCLA.
Hommy Rosado, Barbe (Lake Charles, La.), First Base, 6-1, 215, Sr. - One of the top home run hitters in the country, Rosado earned Louisiana 5A state MVP honors after blasting 26 home runs and racking up 62 RBI for Barbe while batting .486. He was chosen in the 11th round by the Colorado Rockies. He has signed with LSU-Eunice.

Johnny Fasola, Walsh Jesuit (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio), Infield, 6-2, 195, Sr. - Walsh Jesuit vaulted to the No. 1 spot in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings for part of the season thanks in large part to Fasola, who batted .571 (52-for-91) with 55 runs, 46 RBI, 10 doubles and 10 home runs. Drafted in the 36th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Fasola was named the Division 2 state Player of the Year by the Ohio Coaches Association. He has committed to play at Kansas State.
Taylor Lindsey, Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Infield, 6-0, 195, Sr. - Lindsey was one of the top home run hitters in Arizona the past two seasons, blasting 31 round trippers over the past two years, including 13 this year. Selected by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the compensatory round, Lindsey earned all-state honors and batted .594 (57-for-96) with 52 runs, 40 RBI, 11 doubles and three triples.
Johnny Field, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.), Infield, 5-11, 190, Sr. - Field has put up some phenomenal numbers for the Gaels over the years. This season he batted .504 (63-125) with 78 RBI, 64 runs scored, 17 doubles, 9 triples and 14 home runs. He ranks third all-time in Nevada history with 209 career hits and 221 career runs scored. He has signed to play with the University of Arizona.
Chris Culver, Irondequoit (Rochester, N.Y.), Infield, 6-0, 175, Sr. - The District 1 Player of the Year by the National Baseball Coaches Association, Culver batted .561 (37-for-66) with 10 doubles, five triples and nine home runs. He was chosen in the first round of the MLB Draft by New York and has already signed with the Yankees.
Zach Alvord, South Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.), Infield, 6-1, 180, Sr. - Named the MVP of Forsyth County, Alvord batted .353 with 36runs, 30 hits, 26 RBI, 8 doubles and 11 home runs. He was selected in the 18th round of the MLB draft by the Atlanta Braves. He has committed to play at Auburn.
Ryan Brett, Highline (Burien, Wash.), Infield, 5-9, 175, Sr. - The 3A State Player of the Year by the Washington Coaches Association, Brett batted .611 (33-for-54) with 12 doubles and 5 home runs. He also had 20 RBI, 22 stolen bases and 30 runs scored. He was drafted in the third round by the Tampa Bay Rays and has committed to play at Gonzaga.

Alex Balog, Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), Outfield, 6-5, 210, Sr. - Balog pitched and hit Archbishop Mitty to a Central Coast Section Division I title. He batted .407 on the season with 8 doubles, 5 home runs and 30 RBI. On the mound, he was 8-2 with a 1.01 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 48.1 IP. The San Jose Mercury News Player of the Year has committed to play at USF.
Kyle Crockett, Poquoson (Poquoson, Va.), Outfield, 6-0, 170, Sr. - The two-time state player of the year led Poquoson to its second Virginia AA state championship as he batted .479 with 37 runs, 46 hits, 13 doubles, 3 home runs and 33 RBI. On the mound, he was 11-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 61.1 innings pitched. He concluded his career with 38 wins, the second most in Virginia history.

Taylor Eads, Northshore (Slidell, La.), Outfield, 6-0, 215, Sr. - The Metro Player of the Year by the Times Picayune, Eads batted .460 on the season with 17 home runs and 55 RBI. Eads was also an all-state pick on Northshore's state championship team in 2009. He has signed to play at Southern Miss.
Ryan Bolden, Madison Central (Madison, Miss.), Outfield, 6-0, 180, Sr. - The first player from Mississippi chosen in the MLB draft, Bolden went to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the compensatory round. An all-state selection for the Class 6A state runners-up, Bolden batted .351 (33-for-94) with 45 runs, 5 doubles, 5 triples and 8 home runs to go with 30 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Committed to Ole Miss, Bolden has already signed with the Angels.
Mark Payton, St. Rita (Chicago, Ill.), Outfield, 5-8, 165, Sr. - The Illinois State Player of the Year as a junior, Payton made the all-state team again this year and helped lead St. Rita to the 4A state championship game. Drafted in the 31st round by the Minnesota Twins, Payton batted .432 with 10 home runs, 12 doubles, 43 RBI and 59 runs scored.
Reggie Golden, Wetumpka (Wetumpka, Ala.), Outfield, 5-10, 210, Sr. - The Chicago Cubs took Golden in the second round of the MLB draft. Extremely quick down the basepaths and in the outfield, Golden has drawn comparisons to Bo Jackson. He batted .460 this year (29-for-63) with 28 runs, 5 doubles, 5 home runs and 24 RBI. He has committed to play at Alabama.
Shane Conlon, Central (Naperville, Ill.), All-Purpose, 6-1, 182, Sr. - Conlon led Central to the Illinois 4A state championship with a win over St. Rita in the final. Named the Illinois state player of the year by the Chicago Tribune, Conlon was 12-0 on the mound with 122 strikeouts and a 1.45 ERA in 82 innings pitched. He walked just 15 batters. At the plate, he batted .430 with 15 doubles, 46 runs scored and 28 RBI. He has committed to play at Kansas State.
Jacoby Jones, Richton (Richton, Miss.), All-Purpose, 6-3, 195, Sr. - Named the state player of the year by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Jones landed with the Houston Astros in the 19th round. A starter at Richton since he was in seventh grade, Jones batted .459 (34-for-74) with 51 runs, 10 doubles, 8 home runs and 34 RBI while leading Richton to its third state title in the past four years. He has committed to LSU.
John Simms, College Park (The Woodlands, Texas), All-Purpose, 6-2, 185, Sr. - A two-time District 14-5A player of the year, Simms was also an all-state selection this year and was chosen in the 39th round of the MLB draft by the Washington Nationals. He went 8-1 on the mound with a 1.07 ERA and 123 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 65 innings pitched. He has committed to play at Rice.
Drew Vettleson, Central Kitsap (Silverdale, Wash.), All-Purpose, 6-1, 190, Sr. - Known for his ability to pitch with either arm, Vettleson was chosen in the compensatory round by the Tampa Bay Rays to play in the outfield. he batted .490 with seven home runs and 28 RBI while also going 3-2 on the mound with 71 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched. He was an all-state selection and was the Gatorade Washington Player of the Year.
