The Natoma Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell 45-35 to Pike Valley. Natoma has not had much luck with Pike Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caylie Lyle, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Lynae Paget was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pike Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reese Douglas, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Reeves, who scored 20 points.
Natoma has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Pike Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Natoma will challenge Tescott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pike Valley, they and Thunder Ridge will face off at 3:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Pike Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
