Lucas Bratten was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).
Bratten wasn't the only one making solid contact as nine players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cristian Goncalves, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Foster Solomon also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Jupiter had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 30, 2024.
Braedon Hopkins looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Colton Schwarz was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Ryan Senecal was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Wellington's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jupiter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
