The third road  game was the charm for Carter-Riverside, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past the Dunbar Wildcats 19-3 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  22-8  last Tuesday.
 Santos Martinez was a major factor no matter where he played. He  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Martinez was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  RBI and one  run. That  run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news, Carter-Riverside got a  massive  performance out of  Antonio Garza, who  scored three  runs and  stole  Four bases. while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Nikolia Suarez, who  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Carter-Riverside  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .780. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dunbar only posted  an  OBP of  .417.
The  victory was their first  on the road , bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Dunbar,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-4-1.
 We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Carter-Riverside is facing Diamond Hill-Jarvis at the right time seeing as Diamond Hill-Jarvis is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Dunbar, they will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Roosevelt  at 11:00  a.m. Dunbar has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
