Baseball Recap: Thurston Has No Trouble Against Robichaud

While Thurston put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Robichaud. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Denell Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Damar Crimes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Thurston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robichaud only posted an OBP of .111.

The win made it two in a row for Thurston and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Robichaud, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Thurston will head out to square off against Ypsilanti at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Robichaud, they will host Melvindale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
