The La Junta Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Alamosa, falling 54-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points La Junta has scored all season.
Ethan Leyba was La Junta's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
La Junta's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Alamosa, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Junta will be home for the holidays to greet Pueblo County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Junta in Colorado (Pueblo County is ranked 69th, while La Junta is ranked 293rd). Alamosa will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sanford at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
