The Adams Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Poteet Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Adams is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Adams escaped with a win against Spruce by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51.
Adams' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terell Toomas, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keiontay marsh, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Poteet beat West Mesquite 50-45 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Poteet's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while West Mesquite is ranked 173rd).
Adams' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16. As for Poteet, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
