It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Mountain View Thunder had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Cougars 62-38. Mountain View has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layla Senderson, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Senderson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Camaria Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Mountain View's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Mountain View will head out on the road to challenge Peninsula at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Capital does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
